Two brothers drown in accident on Brushy Creek Lake

April 28, 2007 By admin

The department of Natural Resources is looking into the death of two fishermen. The DNR says it happened at Brushy Creek near Lehigh, where a boat apparently went over the dam. In the river downstream from the dam they found the bodies of two men described as being in their seventies.

There were also coolers, boat cushions, and life vests below the spillway, and half a mile further down the boat was wedged under a log. The DNR says the two were identified as 78-year-old John Greenwood of Clarinda, and 73-year-old Frank Greenwood of Webster City. The two brothers  had gone fishing Thursday night at Brushy Creek Lake and were reported missing Friday morning.
