Wartburg wins another all-sports title

May 17, 2007 By admin

Wartburg College has won the Iowa Conference all-sports title. Wartburg teams won or shared six conference championships during this past school year. Wartburg athletic director Rick Willis says they try to do whatever they can to offer a great experience to all athletes.

Willis says the all-sports trophy is a testament to the hard work of a lot of people. It is the fifth straight all-sports title for the school in a conference that Willis says becomes more competitive each year.

Willis says the Iowa conference is a competitive league all the way across and it makes it fun for them. Luther, Loras and Central all tied for third in the overall all-sports race. Four of the conference titles were won by men’s teams as Wartburg won the men’s all sports crown. With three conference titles, Simpson claimed the women’s all sports title.
