Distributor still sought for baseball movie about Norway

May 30, 2007 By admin

Producers of a movie filmed in eastern Iowa last year are still hoping to release the film yet this summer. The Final Season tells the story of the 1991 Norway Iowa baseball team, the last season before the school merged with another district.

The film stars Sean Astin, Powers Booth, and Tom Arnold. Co-producer Tony Wilson says he’s positive they’ll land a distribution deal. "Since the premiere on April 28th at the TriBeCa Film Festival, we’ve been in discussion with a couple of potential distributors," Wilson says, "there’s nothing official yet, but we are very hopeful."

The movie has garnered some positive reviews. Wilson says if they don’t land a deal soon, they might wait to have the film released during the 2008 Major League Baseball season.
