A Charles City police officer has sued a fast food restaurant after finding a surprise in his sandwich a couple of years ago. Officer Josh Douglas drove through the Charles City McDonald’s two years ago while working the night shift and ordered a chicken sandwich which came with lettuce and tomato.
Since Douglas doesn’t like veggies, he opened the sandwich and found that mucous was holding together the lettuce and tomato. Two teens working at the McDonald’s later confessed to the prank, saying they were imitating what they had seen in the movie "Super Troopers." Douglas has now sued the McDonald’s in Floyd County District Court.
The owner of the Charles City franchise says that the restaurant took immediate action to fire the employees and they take food safety seriously.
