Red Oak woman charged with arson, attempted murder

June 8, 2007 By admin

A Red Oak woman is facing several charges following a fire at her home in May. The State Fire Marshal has charged 24-year-old Audrey Nicole Gilleland with first degree arson, two counts of attempted murder and one count child endangerment for the May 26th fire.

Gilleland is accused of setting fire to the attached garage of her Red Oak home on that afternoon, and then leaving while her husband Jason and 14-month old daughter Macie were asleep inside. Gilleland turn herself in to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, where she’s being held on a 107-thousand dollar bond.

State officials say the Department of Human Services is currently investigating the situation involving Gilleland’s daughter.
