Utility crews are investigating the cause of a power outage and fire in the southwest Iowa town of Creston this morning.

Some 2200 Alliant Energy customers in Creston were without power this morning for about a half hour. Alliant’s Ryan Stensland says they’re not sure what caused the outage yet as it could’ve been a broken insulator that fell into the line and became detached and started the blaze.

Stensland says the power was restored and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
