Woman charged with OWI could face more charges in tractor/SUV crash

June 15, 2007 By admin

A fatal crash in north central Iowa last night is blamed on a drunk driver.

A woman from Dakota City is charged with OWI and could be facing more serious charges after authorities say her SUV slammed into the back of a tractor. It happened around 10:30 last night near Badger in Webster County.

Investigators say 58-year-old Lance Ropte of Humboldt died at the scene, after his tractor was rear-ended by the vehicle driven by 40-year-old Georgia Christianson.
