Ottumwa shooting suspect turns himself in

June 19, 2007 By admin

The 37-year-old Ottumwa man wanted in a weekend shooting at a tavern has surrendered to police.

Ottumwa police say Edwin Ramos turned himself in to officers at the Ottumwa-Wappello County law center.

Ramos is charged with two counts of attempted murder for the shootings of 26-year-old Dean Basilio and 34-year-old Georgie Pineda, both of Ottumwa.

Investigators say the Sunday morning shooting was not random and there was an on-going dispute between the three men. No condition report is being released on either victim.

Ramos is held on a $65,000 bond.
