A whopper donation will help ease the suffering of some north-central Iowans. Officials at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge this week welcomed a big donation to its hospice facility. William Baber of Fort Dodge plans to donate $750,000 to help construct the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

The home is expected to open next spring as a part of the Fort Dodge medical facility. Baber’s wife Paula died from breast cancer eight years ago. When the facility is completed it will provide eight beds for terminally-ill patients. This home will serve residents in the surrounding Fort Dodge area.
