Iowa Cubs enjoying a good season at the ticket office

July 2, 2007 By admin

The Iowa Cubs are having a successful season on the field and at the turnstiles. The I-Cubs currently rank fourth in the Pacific Coast League in attendance with an average of 7,750 fans per game in Principal Park.

Iowa Cubs’ spokesman Jeff Lantz says they’ve ha a good year with a lot of good weekend dates. And Lantz says the weather has been good and that helps attendance. The Cubs are one of the best draws in the PCL despite being the smallest market in the league. The trail places likes Sacramento, Memphis, Austin,Texas and are ahead of Oklahoma City and Albuqurque, which are bigger markets.

Lantz says the team has developed a loyal fan base and the improvements made by the ownership have paid off. The Iowa Cubs will return home for a July fourth matchup with New Orleans.
