Top McCain campaign aides exit

July 10, 2007 By admin

There’s been another shake-up in John McCain’s campaign.

Last week, McCain laid off most of his campaign staff after announcing he had just $2 million left in his campaign treasury. Today, McCain accepted the resignations of his top two campaign aides.

John Weaver is a long-time McCain advisor and friend. Iowa native Terry Nelson was McCain’s campaign manager.

McCain was in Washington, D. C., defending the president’s Iraq strategy during Senate debate and he told reporters there that he is not quitting the race.

McCain’s Iowa campaign staff had expected the Arizona Senator to visit Iowa this weekend, but McCain’s going to New Hampshire instead to give a speech about Iraq.
