Two men charged after attack involving machete

August 15, 2007 By admin

Police in Esterville, in northwest Iowa, have made more arrests after a weekend assault involving a machete. Police Captain Brent Shatto says 19 year old Jorge Negrette and Francisco Alvarado face charges in connection with the incident.

They were arrested Tuesday and both are charged with willful injury. Alvarado faces a count of going armed with intent. Both are being held in the Emmet County Jail. Two other people were arrested earlier this week. Authorities charged Alfonso Garcia with attempted murder, going armed with intent, and willful injury. Twenty year old Bruno Zavala, Junior from Estherville is charged with serious assault.

Shatto say Jose DeJesus Hernandez was attacked by three people with several different weapons. Hernandez was airflighted to a Sioux Falls Hospital with his injuries.
