Perry man’s death ruled a suicide

August 20, 2007 By admin

The state medical examiner’s office has released it’s findings in the death of 52 year old Mark Holcomb. The Perry man shot himself last Thursday morning, but investigators were not certain if Holcomb died from his own shot, or a shot fired by Perry police officer Pat Jans.

Dr. Michelle Catellier, with the medical examiner’s office, says Holcomb died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death has been ruled a suicide. The autopsy revealed that the bullet from Jans’ firearm grazed Holcomb, but did not contribute to his death.
