A Creston school administrator faces a shoplifting charge. Creston police Tuesday arrested Michael "Jan" Harris of Creston and charged him with fifth-degree theft. Harris allegedly took about $100 in merchandise from the Creston Wal-Mart.

Creston Superintendent Tim Hood says Harris is still employed by the district. Hood says he’s meet with Harris and with law enforcement and has been assured this incident will not hinder Harris from performing his duties. Hood was asked if Harris had been placed on any kind of leave of absence.

He says, "Mister Harris is at work today and performing his duties." Harris is currently serving as first-grade through eighth-grade assistant principal and middle school athletic director.
