Clearfield couple trapped for hours after barn collapse

September 5, 2007 By admin

A Clearfield couple escaped serious injuries when a barn collapsed and trapped them for more than 30 hours. Officials says Rodney and Beverly Straight were trapped when they were doing work on the barn and may have pulled something loose, causing the barn to collapse around them.

It’s believed the barn had sustained damage when the storms hit the area a few weeks ago. The couple was conscious when they were found and were airlifted to a Des Moines hospital where they were listed in serious condition.
