Two Oelwein men have been arrested for a weekend robbery where they allegedly took another man’s clothes. The Fayette County Sheriff was alerted Sunday about a man walking naked down the middle of the road west of Oelwein.

The victim, a 19-year-old from Hazelton, had apparently been taken out into a rural area north of Fairbank and robbed of his clothes at gunpoint. A short time after the victim was found, the Fayette County Sheriff and Oelwein police executed a search warrant at an Oelwein home where several guns and the victim’s clothes were found.

Officers arrested 36-year-old Bill Ray Staton Junior and 53-year-old Arthur Thomas, charging them with first-degree robbery. Thomas was also cited for posession of a firearm as a felon. Both are being held in the Fayette County jail.
