Drake to continue two Q-B plan

September 13, 2007 By admin

Drake coach Steve Loney says he will continue to use two quarterbacks when the Bulldogs visit Wisconsin-Platteville. Cole Ingle and Derek Retherford have combined to throw four touchdown passes and no interceptions in a 2-0 start to the season.

Loney says both have continued to play well, and as long as they’re playing equally well, they’ll both play. He says if one starts to pull away and play better, that will change, but for now they both deserve playing time.

Loney says the Bulldogs will be challenged by a Platteville team that opened with a victory over St. Ambrose. He says Drake is only 2-2 against them in the last four years, and he says they’ll be gunning for Drake wtih momentum from their opening victory.
