The leader of nation’s largest teacher’s union was in Iowa this week, encouraging members to get involved in the presidential selection process. National Education Association President Reg Weaver spoke to around 150 educators at North Fayette High School in West Union on Wednesday.

He told Radio Iowa that the union will publicly endorse a presidential candidate before the end of this month. "I’m going to be interviewing candidates next week," Weaver said, "and then I’ll make a recommendation to our PAC, and we’ll see where we go from there." The candidate who receives the NEA’s backing could get quite a boost. The union represents 3.2 million educators.
