Minnesota man faces charges after being found with missing teen

October 9, 2007 By admin

A court appearance is scheduled in Des Moines this afternoon for a Minnesota teen who’s facing charges after the disappearance of another Minnesota teen. The parents of 17-year-old Lindsey Lease last saw her Sunday at her home in Worthington, Minnesota, and a vehicle she’d been seen in was found that afternoon in West Des Moines. Monday night, Lease was found, safe, in a West Des Moines apartment.

Police say she was with 17-year-old Sonny Syhavong, also from Worthington, who is described as an acquaintance. Syhavong was taken into custody on a probation violation though reports say Lease had a protection order against Syhavong. The hearing will determine whether he’ll stay in Iowa and fight extradition or be returned to Minnesota to face charges.
