Class 2A, 1A feature key district games

October 12, 2007 By admin

In class 2A, the lead in district five is on the line when second rated Solon visits number seven Tipton. Solon coach Kevin Miller says they must slow down Tipton’s big play offense. He says they have great speed and they’ll need to swarm to the football.

Tipton coach Mike Wehde says he had no trouble getting his team ready for this game. He says whenever they play Solon, no matter the sport, it’s a hard fought battle that the players look forward to. Wehde says the offense has been explosive.

In class 1A district eight the lead is on the line as second ranked Council Bluffs St. Albert visits number ten Underwood. Underwood coach Barret Glasnapp says both schools are close and they know a lot about each other from competing in other sports. Glasnapp has a number of concerns about St. Albert. He says they do everything well, from kicking to tackling.

The Falcons are the defending state champs and coach Jim Duggan says they are ready for a game of this magnitude. Duggan says they’ve played in big games and know what it takes to win those games.

Duggan says it will be a great setting, as he says two undefeated teams 12 miles apart is what it is all about, and makes it fun.
