A Dubuque man is recovering after surviving a house falling on him Wednesday. Twenty-one-year old Matt Neuses, and employee of Cummer Masonry of Sherill, was in the process of moving a house onto a new foundation Wednesday afternoon in Dubuque County.

The house was jacked up about six feet in the air when a wind gust apparently knocked the house off the jacks and onto Nueses’ legs. Rescue workers used airbags to lift the structure off Neuses, and he was taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque to be treated for serious leg injuries. The home was destroyed, with estimated damages of 100-thousand dollars.
