Carroll Keumper and JSPC battle for district title

October 19, 2007 By admin

In high school football action tonight the championship in class 2A district eight is on the line tonight as sixth ranked Carroll Kuemper visits number five JSPC Jefferson. The Kuemper defense has yielded more than one touchdown just once in the last five weeks and its that unit that has the Knights on the verge of clinching their fourth straight trip to the playoffs.

Coach Justin Penner says the defense has led all season long and it’s nice to know they will hold the other team down. Penner says the offense has been overshadowed by the defense. He says they don’t have a lot of offensive statistics because the defense has been giving them a short field. Both teams are 5-0 in the district and JSPC has already clinched a spot in the post season.
