Omaha woman injured in hayrack ride near Council Bluffs

October 22, 2007 By admin

An Omaha woman suffered head injuries after she was run over by a hay rack on a farm north of Council Bluffs on Saturday. Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker says the incident happened at the Shady Lane Ranch just after four o’clock Saturday afternoon.

"They stopped the hay rack. She got off. With some others, they went to throw some hay at another rack and then they went to hop back on," Danker says. "Apparently, the tractor started up. She slipped and fell and the tractor ran over her, we believe, her head area." Danker says the woman — Diana Barton, of Omaha — was taken to an Omaha hospital where she was listed in stable condition at last report.
