Another reported dead in Pottawattamie County accident

November 5, 2007 By admin

The death toll has risen in connection with a three-vehicle crash this morning in western Iowa’s Pottawattamie County. Sheriff Jeff Danker says the accident happened at around 10:30 A.M., two-miles north of Treynor.

Danker says there were two fatalities and one person was taken by helicopter to an Omaha Hospital. The crash involved at least two-pickup trucks and a commercial vehicle. One of the pickups ran a stop sign and was hit broadside by another pickup. The second truck was then struck head-on by the third vehicle.

Danker didn’t know any other details on the victims, just that one of the drivers was from Montgomery County, another from Plattesmouth, Nebraska. The accident caused the street to be closed for over two and a-half hours, while the investigation and clean-up was underway.
