High school football playoffs enter quarterfinals

November 5, 2007 By admin

The state high school football playoffs continue this evening with quarterfinal round action in three classes. The first of two games in the UNI-Dome is in class 1A as fourth ranked Starmont goes up against number six Mason City Newman. Starmont is led by running back Jordan Otdoerfer who has topped the 2,000 yard mark.

Starmont coach Matt Lee says a lot of things Otdoerfer does, he does on his own, and he says it’s something you can’t coach. Otdoerfer says the strength of his team is speed. He says they are very, very fast, especially on the defensive front, and have to be very physical.
