Wild Willy’s fire in Waukon blamed on electrical failure

November 8, 2007 By admin

Foul play has been ruled out in fire that gutted a northeast Iowa eatery. Investigators say electrical failure caused the fire that destroyed a Waukon business last month.

The fire started in the attic of Wild Willy’s Pizza Saloon in the building known as the Opera House. The building was destroyed. No one was hurt.

The Iowa Department of Transportation has reopened a section of Iowa Highway 9 in Waukon that was block north of the junction of Iowa 9 and Iowa 76 because of the fire.
