Arrest made in rash of robberies in Mason City

November 14, 2007 By admin

After a 15-year-old was picked up for a convenience store hold-up in Mason City earlier this week, police there have made another arrest after a rash of quick-stop robberies in recent weeks. Police late Tuesday charged 32-year-old Johnathon Brewer of Mason City with two counts of second-degree robbery, a Class C felony, in connection with the robberies of two Kum & Go stores earlier this week.

Police say they received information from several different sources that led to two search warrants being executed as well as Brewer’s arrest. But police add they’re still not sure if Brewer is connected to the other three unsolved convenience store robberies in town.

Second-degree robbery is a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison at a $10,000 fine per count.
