Woman from Greene killed in car accident

November 16, 2007 By admin

An elderly woman from the northern Iowa town of Greene was killed in a two-vehicle accident on the Avenue of the Saints west of Rudd. Eighty-one-year-old Mary Elizabeth Ott died after suffering injuries in the accident which happened at the intersection of Floyd County Road T-24 and U.S. Highway 18 at around 11:15 Thursday morning.

The Iowa State Patrol says Ott was a passenger in a car driven by her husband Richard, which was northbound on T-24 when it failed to yield and was struck by a van driven by 37-year-old David Baker of Mason City. Richard Ott and Baker were taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City and were treated and released.
