Two western Iowans were killed Wednesday in separate accidents on Interstate 80 in central Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol says 50-year-old Delore James Morrow, of Council Bluffs, died when the pickup he was driving went out of control as it was traveling west on I-80, five-miles west of DeSoto, in Dallas County. Troopers say Morrow’s pickup went through the median and struck the side of an eastbound Freightliner semi. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt during the crash, that happened at around 2:30 p.m. The Patrol says also, 70-year-old Caryl Jean Garrison, of Council Bluffs, died Wednesday when the eastbound Jeep Cherokee she was driving on I-80 was struck by a westbound semi that went out of control on a bridge and crossed the median east of Mitchellville, in Polk County. Garrison was ejected from the SUV during the crash, that also injured a passenger in the vehicle, 41-year-old Susan Kay Garrison, of Des Moines. The semi struck a car prior to hitting the Jeep, but the driver of that vehicle was not injured.
