Sioux City teen dies in accident

November 26, 2007 By admin

A Sioux City teen died and five people were injured in a one-car rollover accident southeast of Hinton on Friday night. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as 14-year-old Joshua Sargent. He was a back seat passenger in the car driven by his uncle, 37-year-old Jeffery Allen Sargent of Hinton.

Sargent was driving north on a county road when he lost control on a curve and the car rolled onto its top. Sergant and his nephew were both trapped in the vehicle. The driver was taken to a Sioux City hospital by air ambulance.

Authorities report he had non-life-threatening injuries. There were four other passengers in the vehicle, all children. Three were Sergant’s children and the fourth was his niece.
