Webster City man charged with abusing child

November 26, 2007 By admin

Authorities in north-central Iowa are releasing details of an arrest last week in a sex abuse case. Webster City Police arrested 43-year-old Mark Anthony Jeffers of Webster City last Tuesday. Jeffers is facing charges of three counts of sexual abuse in the second degree, four counts of lascivious acts with a child and three counts of indecent contact with a child.

The charges stem from an investigation by Webster City Police into allegations of inappropriate contact with a child. Police were assisted in the investigation by the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Hamilton County Attorney’s Office. Jeffers was being held on a bond $327,500 in the Hamilton County Jail.
