Two charged in Storm Lake stabbing

November 27, 2007 By admin

Storm Lake police says two man are in custody after a stabbing today that is believed to be drug related.

Assistant Police Chief Todd Erskine says two calls came in about 4-30 A.M. One reported a disturbance at 120 Highway Street — the other call from the police station parking lot — and the man said he’d been stabbed while at that address.

Investigators learned two men had gone to an apartment on Highway Street where they allegedly stabbed a 36-year-old man. The victim went to a neighbor’s apartment and asked for a ride to the hospital. The two assailants returned and tried to stab the victim a second time. The neighbor and the man were able to escape and drive to the police station where they called for help.

Paramedics took the man to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center where he’s being treated. His name hasn’t been released. Buena Vista County deputies , along with police, eventually located 30 -year-old Alfredo Valdez and 18-year- old Ulises Cedillo-Barragan. They’re both from Storm Lake and are in custody.

Four search warrants were served. One turned up a knife in a car and small amounts of marijuana were found in two apartments. The men face charges that include going armed with intent, willful injury and assault while participating in a felony.
