Clinton touts wife’s foreign policy credentials

November 28, 2007 By admin

Former Governor Tom Vilsack — a key Iowa backer of Hillary Clinton’s bid for the presidency — recently called Hillary Clinton the "face" of Bill Clinton’s administration "in foreign affairs." Bill Clinton himself was in Iowa Tuesday, campaigning on his wife’s behalf, and the former president touted her foreign policy credentials during a speech in Muscatine.

"As we have learned over and over again in Iraq, in Afghanistan, on global warming, on any problem — there are very few problems in the world America can solve alone, so she wants our policy to cooperate with others whenever we can and act alone only when we have to," Clinton said. Bill Clinton also visited De Witt and Peosta Tuesday. He started his day, though, with a stop at Hamburg Inn Number Two, a popular Iowa City restaurant for presidential candidate visits.

Clinton ordered an omelet and sat in a booth near a picture of himself, which hangs on the wall of the eatery. Clinton also spoke with reporters after his breakfast in Iowa City.
