Suspicious death being investigated in Hamilton County

December 4, 2007 By admin

A suspicious death is under investigation in north-central Iowa. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident that occurred in the southern part of the county last night. In a press release issued this morning, the sheriff’s department responded to a rural residence near Ellsworth on a report of a possible assault.

When deputies arrived they discovered the body of a deceased male subject. The name of the individual is being withheld until all families are notified. Hamilton County Sheriff Dennis Hagenson determined that the death was suspicious in nature.

They later asked for assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. An autopsy on the body is scheduled for tomorrow morning at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.
