For the second straight weekend the Drake men will host their own tournament as they take on Chicago State. The Bulldogs are 6-1 after a 35-point win over Iowa State on Wednesday night and coach Keno Davis knows a lot of people are surprised by their start.

Davis on his post game show on KRNT after the Iowa State game says people probably thought it was luck that beat all the in-state teams last year, and when they struggled in conference play, that may’ve confirmed those thoughts.

Davis says this team is making good progress, as he says they have the program where they can beat any team on their schedule. Davis says the bad thing is they’re not at the point where they can’t lose to any team. He says there aren’t any sure wins and they have to continue working hard every game. Jackson State and Texas Pan American meet in the other first round game.
