Police in Clinton say the discovery of a body in a downtown apartment is being investigated as a homicide. The department was called to the apartment at 518 South Third Street about 5 o’clock Thursday afternoon on a report of an unresponsive person.
On arrival, police found a homicide victim. The name of the victim has been withheld until notification of relatives is complete. Investigators learned the victim’s 1998 white Dodge van was missing from its customary parking spot.
The van was located in the city and impounded early this morning. An autopsy is scheduled for today by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to call the Clinton Police Department at 563-243-1458.
