Iowa State downs Bethune-Cookman 80-57

December 18, 2007 By admin

The Iowa State Cyclones closed the first half with a 10-0 run and never looked back in an 80-57 win over Bethune-Cookman. Wesley Johnson led four Cyclones in double figures with 16 points as the Cyclones improve to 5-4.

ISU coach Greg McDermott says it was a good effort as you never know what to expect out of the first game after finals. He says they got the win and will move on feeling a little better about their offense.

McDermott says the Cyclones are playing better as a team. He says they turned down some good shots for great shots and made some nice plays in transition. McDermott says they made the extra pass and guys are getting to the point where they don’t care if they score, as long as the team scores. Iowa State hosts Texas Southern on Wednesday night.
