Iowa heads to Wisconsin looking for conference win

January 4, 2008 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on the road in the Big Ten to play 25th ranked Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes opened the league race with a hard-fought 79-76 loss to 11th rated Indiana. Iowa coach Todd Lickliter says they are great guys who try hard, but he says he doesn’t want to sell them short.

Lickliter says he wants to see them beat Indiana. He says one of the things in practices and games is they have continued to try and do things that are "low percentage."

Lickliter says he does not want to settle for moral victories. He says he’s proud of the team and likes the way they play, and showed some spurts of good basketball, but he wants more of it. Lickliter says he wouldn’t want to play on a team where the coach just wanted them to try hard. Wisconsin opened the league race with a lopsided win at Michigan.
