The Iowa Hawkeye women picked up a Big Ten victory at Minnesota Thursday night. Krista VandeVenter’s layup sent the game to overtime and her bank shot in overtime in the waning seconds gave the Hawks the win. VandVenter says she knew the shot clock was running out and she had to get the shot off.

The Hawkeyes improve to 2-1 in the Big Ten and 9-5 overall. Coach Lisa Bluder says they showed alot of mental strength to weather the comeback. She says they were physically strong.
