Iowa looks for first conference win against Ohio State

January 9, 2008 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on the road in the Big Ten to take on Ohio State. Despite losing several key players to the NBA off last year’s team that made it all the way to the national championship the Buckeyes are off to a 2-0 start in league play.

Iowa coach Todd Lickliter says it looks like the Buckeyes are playing more zone, and their scoring is balanced. He says the difference is in the personnel.

Lickliter says a key for Ohio State has been the play of senior guard Jamar Butler. He says Butler scores when he needs to score and distributes the ball when he needs to and is "a quality point guard." Lickliter says Butler is a very good player who has obviously had some good coaching and is a team player.

Iowa is 0-2 in the conference.
