The Iowa State Cyclones return to Big-12 action at home, tonight, against Missouri. The Cyclones opened the league race with a loss at Baylor and now face a Mizzou team that is 11-5 under second-year coach Mike Anderson.

ISU coach Greg McDermott who says the Tigers return virtually their entire squad from last year and add in another good player and they have the experience needed to be a contender. McDermott says they’ve used the experience to play an aggressive schedule to get them ready for the league.

Missouri opened the Big-12 race with a win at home against Texas and Anderson says they will need another good effort. He says Hilton Coliseum is a tough play to win and Anderson says they hope to be able to shoot well like they have in other games.

Missouri won in Ames last season, but Anderson says that has nothing to do with this year other than the players had the experience of playing in Ames.

Iowa State is 10-6 overall. At halftime, ISU officials will retire the jersey number 35 worn by former Cyclone great Barry Stevens, who died of a heart attack last February.
