Iowa women head on the road to Illinois

January 21, 2008 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeye women are on the road in the Big Ten, tonight, to take on Illinois. Both teams are 3-3 in the league race. The Hawks have been idle since an overtime win against Wisconsin eight days ago and coach Lisa Bluder says her team is ready for a game.

Bluder says they feel good and are excited about going to Illinois. They only play Illinois once this season and Bluder says it’s important to get the win to help any postseason hopes. Illinois is also 3-3 in the Big Ten under first year coach Jollette Law who was a standout player at Iowa.

Bluder says they enjoy having Law as their coach, and the players will play hard to try and win one for their coach over her old school. The Hawks are 10-7 overall while the Illini are 11-6.
