Baby it’s cold outside…

January 24, 2008 By admin

It’s the coldest morning of the season so far and several low temperature records were broken in Iowa this morning. Webster City dipped down to 21-degrees below zero at 7:30 this morning. It shattered a 111-year-old record of 19-below zero recorded in 1897.

Other records around Iowa included Waterloo with 26-degrees below zero this morning breaking the record of 23-below in 1904. Lamoni hit 13-below zero breaking the record of 12-below in 1915.

Temperatures in Iowa will still be on the chilli side today until temperatures rebound slowly in the 20s for Friday with a chance of snow. Saturday and Sunday will find temperatures in the 20s and 30s.
