Le Mars man charged with murder after stabbing

A Le Mars man is charged with murder after a stabbing in a downtown Le Mars apartment Thursday night.  Le Mars police arrested 35-year-old Jody Brent O’Keefe of Le Mars on charges of attempted murder and murder in the second degree.

O’Keefe was arrested at the apartment where authorities say a man was stabbed about 8:30 Thursday night.

The stabbing victim died at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Police aren’t releasing the man’s name until his family can be notified. O’Keefe is being held in the Plymouth County Jail.
