Some Northwest Iowa kids stuck at school by blizzard

January 29, 2008 By admin

The weather is causing all kinds of problems in northern Iowa. The Pocahontas, Kossuth and Palo Alto county sheriff’s offices along with the Iowa State Patrol report very low visibility in northwest Iowa.

The Storm Lake state patrol dispatch office reports that Highway 3 west of Pocahontas is closed by accidents, and Highway seven east of Mason down to Fort Dodge is closed for the same reasons.

The Kossuth County Sheriff’s office is recommending against any travel in the county. Several schools in northwest Iowa closed early, but the students were unable to go home because of the blizzard conditions.
