UNI playing better going deeper into bench

February 7, 2008 By admin

The UNI men are looking for a strong finish to the season to help their seeding for the Valley tournament. The Panthers are 6-6 in the conference race after a Wednesday night loss at Creighton but coach Ben Jacobsen’s team has been playing better in recent weeks. He says one of the reasons is improved depth.

He says 11 guys have played at different times, and all have done a good job when their number has been called. Because of that it gives the Panthers a number of different combinations. Jacobsen says not all the guys are going to get equal playing time, but they understand no matter how many minutes they play, each minute is extremely important. UNI visits Missouri State on Saturday.
