Iowa women take on Purdue

February 13, 2008 By admin

The Iowa women are at Purdue tonight  as the leader in the Big Ten conference. Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says they beat the Boilermakers in a good effort in the first game at home. Bluder says it was a great team win where everyone got involved and they controlled the game, and now they go on the road in a place that’s tough to play.

But she says they’ve gained some confidence with recent wins on the road. Bluder says one of the things that’s helped them win on the road is senior leadership, but she says just having seniors won’t guarantee wins. Bluder says you have to have good seniors that embrace the leadership role, and her seniors have done that. Iowa is 17-7 overall and 10-3 in the conference, with a one game lead over Purdue and Ohio State.
