After jumping out to an early 16 point lead the roof caved in on the Iowa Hawkeyes in the second half. The Hawks went more than seven minutes down the stretch without a basket and lost 60-52 to a Michigan team that had won a total of just six games heading into the contest.

Iowa coach Todd Lickliter says it seemed like they got tentative, as they had beaten Michigan once and thought they were supposed to beat them again. He called it a frustrating loss, "There’s just no words to describe what it’s like…you put it out there and you play like that in the second have, you know, it’s extremely painful."

Lickliter says the Hawkeyes still don’t know how to make plays that win games. He says it’s something that has been the hardest thing since arriving, to get an understanding that every possession is important and you play with great purpose and great focus. Lickliter says you don’t let things happen to you, you have to dictate what happens, and his team just doesn’t have that understanding.

Iowa falls to 4-9 in the Big Ten and 11-15 overall.
