The remains of an Iowa man have been found in Colorado, more than two decades after he vanished.Hikers near Grand Junction, Colorado, found a human skull in the fall of 2006. Dental records have now determined its that of Mark Delmege, of Des Moines, who was 26-years-old when he disappeared in 1983.

Authorities say the skull was all that was found. Delmege had worked as a bartender and reportedly gave most of his belongings to charity and friends before going missing, and had said he was thinking of moving to Colorado.

His car was found near Grand Junction in June of ’83, about a month after he disappeared, but family and friends in Iowa never heard from him. Authorities say finding the skull adds one piece to the puzzle that may never be solved.
