The Drake men are enjoying the attention from a big victory in the Missouri Vally Conference Tournament championship game, and a boost in the polls, as they’re now up to 16th in the A-P poll from 20th last week.

They moved up to 18th from 20th in the USA today/coaches poll. The Bulldogs now have 28 wins on the season again just four losses, and will find out Sunday their seed and opponent for the NCAA Tournament.

The Drake women celebrated their conference co-championship Monday with a ceremony to cut down the nets at the Knapp center. The Bulldogs got some help to end up in a three-way tie with Illinois State and Evansville, but coach Amy Stephens is still pleased with the title.

Stevens says it’s exciting as they’ve worked hard all season long. She says it’s not exactly the path they thought they would take, but it is a title, that’s what they want to shoot for as a program. The Bulldogs will play Indiana State in the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament Friday at 8:30 in St. Louis.
